Open Invitation: We invite inquiry, participation and suggestions from anyone who wants to be part of this project/research - Research participation is open to people who live in our settlement as well as some who live apart from our settlement. For our "giving back," in exchange for the incredible opportunity given us by the granting foundations, we are establishing a Research and Information Dissemination Center. In this center we will plan, collect, compile and disseminate data collected throughout our settlement and projects. We have initially targeted the following areas of research and data collection. Energy Systems, Water/Sewage Systems: We will install several versions of energy and water/sewage systems on the domains of our residents so we can collect data for usage, amount of production, consistency of production, ease of production, maintenance needs, sustainability, impact on residents and surrounding nature, quality of production, etc. Usage data does not currently exist in any readily available format for any lifestyle other than our modern unsustainable lifestyles. Live Food Testing: We will test live food for nutritional content and regularly publish the results. Most nutritional testing is done on cooked or dead food. We will conduct live food testing on various growing methods, including hydroponics, traditional organic gardening, and Anastasia's style of nurturing a relationship with your food producing plants. Our purpose is to concretely demonstrate quality versus quantity. Recycling Research: We have agreed that whatever we take into our settlement will stay there to the extent that we will not haul trash away to dump sites but will create ways to re-use and re-cycle. Our goal is ZERO waste and we are committed to demonstrating that goal and researching and publishing information about that process. It will involve becoming VERY conscious of what we purchase to bring in to the settlement as well as creating ways to beautifully and productively re-cycle everything we do bring in. Regular Water and Soils Testing: We intend to document and publish the effects of our lifestyle habits on the water and soils on our settlement. We will test water coming in to the settlement and water leaving the settlement. Personal, family and community adjustment to the settlement lifestyle: Compile Data, create and disseminate reports on residents’ adaptation to infinitely sustainable lifestyles. No data is currently available in this area but would be a significant factor in individual decisions to adopt sustainable lifestyles. Data will be collected through such varied methods as periodic interviews, behavioral observations, questionnaires, recording group discussions, productivity reports, periodic stress testing etc. Animal migrations and interactions: Monitor and record animal migration routes and interactions with humans’ domains lifestyle - to determine degree of success of human integration with existing wild life habitat and habits and to help us create harmonious relationships and lifestyle choices. Publish Guides and Reports: Collect data and distribute information related to the various elements of transition to infinite sustainability in order to help others in making smooth transition to infinitely sustainable lifestyles. |
