Transitional educational process - Animals

Part of the educational process before a new resident joins the kin domain is to complete self-examination questions that help them make self-honoring and other-honoring decisions.

For example:

Before deciding to bring in ANY animals (pets or farm) to your kin domain, consider and decide how you might honorably deal with...

Their damage to another’s trees or gardens? All pets and domestic animals have this potential.

Animals that eat living fences? Gardens?

Barking and disturbing behaviors that impact others?

Injury to others?

If you intend to raise animals for meat, do you have a humane and perhaps loving way to end their lives?

If you intend to raise animals for milk or eggs, do you have a backup plan for times you will be away? Are you assuming your neighbors will be happy to help you? Many will be uncomfortable caring for your creatures.

Can you afford to feed them for their lifetime?  Do you want to take on that responsibility?

Can they forage for themselves in all seasons?

Can you effectively keep them in your own domain?  What other solutions can you devise?

Can they forage or feed themselves naturally without damaging yours or another’s domain?

Are you comfortable contributing to wild dogs and cats bred from unrestricted dogs and cats running around freely?

How will you deal with feces and messes left by your unrestricted (or restricted) animal(s) on another’s property or on common community property?

Unintentional Impregnating of another’s pets on their own domain from your pet who unexpectedly goes wandering?

How will you deal with animals if they become ill or dangerous?

           How will you deal with noisy animals?
